Hey Family,
Thanks so much for checking in and checking on me. All is well. I am in Fond Parisien Haiti at the Love a Child headquarters. It's around 10 pm here and I have a 5:20 breakfast call, so I'll have to make this one short and sheet.
Please check out the slide show for a lot of great shots from the last three days.
Today we had our first full work day on the work site. And let me tell you, work it was. A sister like myself hasn't worked that hard in a long time. By the end of the day I was sweaty, dirty and probably a little bit darker, but that's all right, I didn't complain and my team persevered until the end.
The experience is incredible. The people are courageous and resilient. The homes I'm building will be for amputee survivors of the earthquake. A few came by the work site today. They may have lost a limb, but they didn't lose their spirit. They are a strong people and certainly worthy of our respect. Some of the new homeowners are coming to the work site tomorrow to work with us as we build their homes. What an encouragement to us and a wonderful reminder to count our blessings daily.
Well ladies and gents, I'm tire and have got to get some sleep.
Thanks for your prayers and support.
Love ya!!!
Hey Donna Lee! So glad to hear that things are going well. I've been praying for you and your team. I love you! See you when you return. Sonja
